Licensure Renewal; Continuing Education Requirements

(a)Each licensee who is a doctor of podiatric medicine is required to complete fifty

(50)hours of approved continuing education during each two

(2)year renewal period. Each doctor of podiatric medicine renewing a license may be required to submit proof satisfactory to the Board of compliance with the provisions of this requirement.

(b)Each doctor of podiatric medicine, in order to renew a license, shall report progress towards compliance with continuing education requirements by signing and returning the declaration contained in the license renewal application.

(c)Any licensed doctor of podiatric medicine who cannot complete a minimum of fifty

(50)hours of approved continuing education during a two

(2)year period shall be ineligible for renewal of his or her license, unless such licensee applies for and obtains a waiver from the Board, as shall be determined by the Board.

(d)As part of the continuing education required of each licensee, each licensee, at the time of license renewal, shall certify that he or she possesses a current and valid certificate in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

(e)The Board requires that each licensee retain records of all continuing education programs attended which indicate the title of the course or program, the sponsoring organization, or individual and the accrediting organization, if any, for a minimum of four

(f)Continuing education credits in early childhood development and literacy as prescribed by the Board and that conforms with the Department of Public Health and Social Services regulations and documentation of that education shall be required for renewal of licensure under this Article.
