Off-Island Employees, Transportation of

Upon a finding of necessity made in accordance with § 6504 of this Chapter, I Maga’håga/Maga’låhi may employ a person recruited from without Guam upon a contractual basis. The contract for such a person may provide that the Government shall pay for the transportation one way from point of hire to Guam of the person recruited and his spouse and dependent children and for not more than Two Thousand Five Hundred (2,500) pounds of household effects. The transportation allowance for individuals shall be calculated at the lowest prevailing air fare. No portion of the household effects allowance shall be used for the transportation of a motor vehicle. The Government shall not enter into any contract for the employment of any person for a term of less than two

(2)years. No person shall be granted more than one

(1)contract providing transportation benefits of any kind. It is the specific purpose and intent of this Section that no person shall be the beneficiary of multiple employment contracts providing for transportation allowances.
