Blood Donors’ Leave

(a)Any employee of the Government of Guam shall be granted administrative leave for the purpose of donating blood. The amount of administrative leave shall be as follows:

(1)Two

(2)hours of administrative leave for the donation of whole blood;

(2)Three

(3)hours of administrative leave for the donation of platelets;

(3)Two

(2)hours of administrative leave for blood donor screening; and

(4)Additional leave may be granted in the event that the clinic receiving the donation of blood determines that more time is necessary for the donor to recover.

(b)The approving authority may require from the donor up to five

(5)days’ notice of the date of the blood donation. Nothing herein shall limit the ability of the approving authority and the donor from coordinating schedules of donation dates and times to accommodate the operations of the agency.

(c)The clinics shall provide certification of the dates and times of the employee’s donation.
