Erection of Signs
View official PDF ↗(a)All permitted signs shall be erected in such a manner as not to create a hazard to public safety or property, and shall be resistant to winds, typhoon, earthquake or other natural phenomenon. Engineering design shall be based on applicable sections of the Building Law of Guam (Chapter 66 of 21 GCA).
(b)The Building Official shall set specific engineering design standards. Application, accompanied by detailed drawings and specifications shall be submitted to the Building Official, who will review said plans and grant permit for the erection of said sign, free-standing or attached. The Building Official shall refer said plans to the zoning inspector to assure conformity to the provisions of this Chapter.
(c)Electronic and other signage that have been granted variances by the Guam Land Use Commission or have been issued a Notice of Action by the Guam Land Use Commission on or before May 15, 2017, shall be legally authorized to operate; provided, that all business license requirements are met and are thereafter maintained in good standing; and the Guam Land Use Commission shall conduct periodic reviews of the variances authorized by this Subsection to enforce the conditions of said variances and may require similar or additional conditions.
