View official PDF ↗Credit service charge means the total of
(1)the time price differential or other charge, however denominated, which is paid or payable, directly or indirectly, to or for the account of the seller or his transferee, or to a person related to or designated by him, by the buyer of goods, services or an interest in land for the privilege of paying for the goods, services or an interest in land over a period of time, and
(2)charges incurred for investigating the collateral or credit-worthiness of the buyer or for commissions or brokerage for obtaining the credit, irrespective of the person to whom they are paid or payable, unless the seller had no notice of the charges at the time the credit was granted. It does not include charges as a result of default, additional charges (§ 2202), delinquency charges (§ 2203), and deferral charges (§ 2204).
