Recommendation for Alternative Appropriate Treatment

After an examination described in § 82A801 determines, in his or her clinical judgment, that the patient has serious side effects from his or her current medication, the treating professional shall suggest, if available, an alternative appropriate treatment that will have fewer side effects.
