Emergency Treatment Initiated by Law Enforcement

(a)At the request of the treating physician, or at the discretion of any law enforcement officer with the power of arrest, any person generally designated to do so by the government of Guam may bring to a designated facility for evaluation any person on assisted outpatient treatment that the officer has reasonable cause to believe has a severe psychiatric disorder and, because of the disorder, is a danger to himself, herself or to others or is gravely disabled.
(b)If a physician determines that someone under an AOT order is noncompliant with the court order and may need involuntary hospitalization, the physician may arrange for the individual to be transported to a hospital and retained for an evaluation not to exceed seventy-two
