Veterans Healthcare Assistance

(a)The Guam Office of Veterans Affairs shall provide information on various programs available to veterans in the area of healthcare. The Office shall:

(1)provide assistance to disabled and elderly veterans in the scheduling of patient appointments, tracking, reviewing, and responding to electronic orders and consultations;

(2)provide assistance to eligible veterans in the filling of prescriptions, coordination of their appointments, creation and maintenance of medical documentation files, and other services that would enhance the patient-healthcare provider relationship; and

(3)provide non-emergency transportation for eligible veterans to and from medical appointments and pharmacies.

(b)Employment positions may be created, if necessary, and filled in accordance with established administrative rules and regulations; however, nothing herein is to be construed or interpreted as to limit the office from implementing the services and provisions of this Section prior to the establishment of positions and the creation and adjudication of administrative rules and regulations.
