Police Use of Private Vehicles
View official PDF ↗(a)The Guam Police Department shall permit police officers to use their privately owned vehicles for police service, patrol duty and other law enforcement related functions. The Department shall prescribe adequate compensation and insurance as described below. The Chief of Police shall prescribe, by regulation, the allowances the Department will pay for the use of vehicles subsidized by this section.
(b)Any authorized police officer of the Guam Police Department who uses his private funds to purchase a subsidized vehicle and regularly uses this vehicle to perform his official duties as authorized under subsection (a), shall, in addition to his salary, be granted allowances therefore at rates established by the Guam Police Department for repair and maintenance services, official mileage, gasoline and shall have his public liability and property insurance paid by the Guam Police Department from its annual budget.
(c)Any authorized police officer of the Guam Police Department who agrees to use his or her private vehicle for police service shall report to duty COL120106 CH. 56 AUTOMOBILES with the designated vehicle unless the vehicle is unavailable due to required maintenance.
