(a)Except as provided in Subsection

(b)of this Section, any person who knowingly and willfully violates § 52110 of this Act shall upon conviction be punished by a fine of not more than One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) per day of violation or imprisonment for not more than six

(6)months, or by both.

(b)Any person who knowingly makes any false statements, representations or certification in any application, record report, plan or other document filed or required to be maintained under this Act, or by any rule or regulation promulgated under this Act, shall upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500) or by imprisonment for not more than six

(6)months, or by both.
