Earth Week

(a)The third week of April of each year is hereby designated as “Earth Week,” a week to review and assess environmental progress and to determine what further steps must be taken, to continue an islandwide effort of education on environmental problems, and to renew the commitment of each citizen to restoring and protecting the quality of Guam’s environment.

(b)I Maga’håga/Maga’låhi is hereby authorized and requested to issue annually a proclamation calling upon all interests, including education, agriculture, business, labor, government, civic and private organizations and individuals to observe “Earth Week” by joining together for a continuing commitment, and in a cooperative effort, to preserve the integrity and livability of Guam’s environment.

(c)I Maga’håga/Maga’låhi is authorized and requested to appoint an Earth Week Committee to plan and make appropriate arrangements for the observation of Earth Week. Said Committee shall be composed of members of civic organizations which concern themselves with preserving the integrity and livability of Guam’s environment.
