Chapter to Benefit Victim not Offenders
View official PDF ↗The rights set out in this Chapter are strictly for the benefit of victims and witnesses and not defendants or perpetrators. A defendant shall have no standing to raise any objections to the applicability of the provisions of this Chapter other than to request a continuance at hearing or trial; provided, however, that the violation of any provision of this Chapter or the failure of the court or a prosecutor to comply with such provisions shall not be COL120106 CH. 160 CRIME V ICTIM’S R IGHTS ACT OF 2004 grounds for appeal or for reconsideration by the court.
