Implementation of the Guam World War II Reconciliation Act of 2021
View official PDF ↗Notwithstanding any other provision of law, within thirty
(30)days of the enactment of the Guam World War II Reconciliation Act of 2021, I Maga’hågan/Maga’låhen Guåhan shall submit to the Speaker of I Liheslaturan Guåhan an implementation plan, which shall include a proposed funding source(s), for the payment of war claims under U.S. Public Law 114-328 to claimants who failed to meet the one (1)-year filing deadline under Section 1705(b)(2) of U.S. Public Law 114-328. Upon the submission of I Maga’hågan/Maga’låhen Guåhan’s implementation plan, I Liheslaturan Guåhan may adopt, reject, or amend the plan in the form of a bill. If after thirty
(30)calendar days, I Liheslaturan Guåhan fails to act on the plan as submitted, the plan shall be deemed adopted.
