Sunset Provision Underage Screening and Enrollment

Notwithstanding the provisions of §§ 6103 and 6104, beginning with the School Year 2002 - 2003, all students must be at least five

(5)years of age by July 31 of each year for enrollment in kindergarten for that school year. The Department of Education shall announce the starting date for schools at least one hundred eighty

(180)days in advance of the starting date. There shall be no further screening for underage enrollment in kindergarten after the School Year 2001 -2002.
