Teacher Corps Scholarships for Specialist Teachers

(a)The Educator Corps Council may award Teacher Corps scholarships beyond the four

(4)year limitation of § 18202 for individuals to seek graduate training, that may include a masters degree, for teaching specialties that require training beyond a baccalaureate degree. COL622016 CH. 18 YAMASHITA EDUCATOR CORPS

(1)This Section shall apply only to specialist areas that require graduate training as a minimum requirement for certification and shall not be used for as a means for existing teachers to meet promotional requirements.

(2)The scholarships awarded under this Section shall be based on the recruitment needs of the Department of Education/Guam Community College and shall be limited to a period of time not to exceed two

(2)years.

(3)The stipend for such applicants shall be the same as a senior under the provisions of § 18202(b) of this Article for each additional year of study.

(b)The Educator Corps Council may, based on the needs of the Department of Education or the Guam Community College for specialist teachers, authorize part-time scholarships if the prospective scholarship recipient is a teacher with the Department of Education or the Guam Community College. If such part-time scholarships are authorized, the terms and conditions shall be the same as scholarships awarded under the Counselor Corps Program in Article 3 of this Chapter.
