Police Captain

A Police Captain shall be a uniformed classified officer and shall meet the following qualifications, experience, and training, in addition to those prescribed by the Department of Administration:

(a)graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Police Science, Criminal Justice Administration, Public Administration, or closely related field or discipline from an accredited institution recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation

(CHEA)or its successors;

(b)must have at least two

(2)years of experience in the rank of Police Lieutenant, or equivalent law enforcement experience in administration or management level; and

(c)other necessary special qualifications as established by the Department of Administration not inconsistent with

(a)and

(b)above.
